Children's rights

All children share the same rights

All children in the world are warmed by the same sun and also share the same rights according to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child consists of 54 articles, or rules, about how all children should be treated in order to feel good and to live their lives to the fullest.

The four core principles are:

  • all children have equal rights
  • the interest of the child should always come first
  • all children have the right to develop
  • all children have the right to express their views and be listened to.

Retoy also focus extra on Article 31;

  • every child’s right to play!

The guiding principle in everything we do is that the children of the world should be able to enjoy their rights fully, today and in the future. To achieve this, we work closely with UNICEF.

Retoy creates activities where children get to practice their rights by:

  • playing,
  • expressing their point of view,
  • being listened to,
  • drawing and creating
  • being part of our children-expert meetings
