Why Play for Sustainability?
We have only one planet; yet, we in the West consume energy and resources as if we had three. This stems from an untenable consumption pattern where goods are produced, bought and discarded without any consideration to people or the environment. Human rights and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child are violated daily in Sweden and elsewhere.
The realization that the current economic, social and ecological order is unsustainable has led to a quest for more practical possibilities of change. We believe that a new conscious way of action, interaction and consumption needs to emerge. The world requires constructive and creative solutions to come to terms with the human, economic and climate related challenges that we face. We must heighten our awareness of the global consequences of each and every one of our actions.
